It’s All About FDA

I have come to learn that there are three fundamental requirements to becoming successful. It was only after coming upon this concept did I realize how important they were, and how I was missing at least one. FDA is simple, you need Focus, Drive, and Ambition to really succeed. (Some people have relied on luck but that’s not part of the FDA formula.) Some people have all three, some have only one or two, but when you have all three and sincerely want to be successful, you’ll get there. The one I was lacking most was focus. I had the drive and the ambition ever since highschool. I had all these crazy business ideas but not a way to focus them and help them come to fruition. Once I started focusing my ideas more, things just started fallling into place. It’s like a tripod that needs all three legs in order to stand. Don’t worry about incorporating these principles into your life. If you try hard enough, you’ll know when you have FDA. You’ll have a focused goal, the drive to succeed, and the ambition to see that your plan comes through.

Local Business Marketing

Some businesses just don’t understand that their website is their most powerful marketing tool. Day after day I see local businesses pouring thousands of dollars every year into that little yellow pages ad that they hope someone will come across. Well as it is clearly stated on the home page of this site, “Yellow pages are dead”. No one uses them anymore. Why look for the phone book and flip through the thousands of pages when you can just type what you are looking for in Google and get near instant, qualified results? Many local small businesses aren’t picking up on this. Not only does having a clean designed, optimized site for your business make you look more professional, but it also increases awareness of your company. Search engine marketing is the most cost effective form of advertising. It also returns the biggest ROI. This is because you are bringing in targeted, pre-qualified prospects to your site. Other traditional forms of advertising can’t do this. The television or magazine ad doesn’t know whether you need scented baby diapers or not. If your company ranked first on Google for “scented baby diapers” what percentage of people that click to your site do you think needs scented baby diapers? Probably all 100%!. Local businesses need to realize that and stop wasting money with yellow page ads. If you own a business, people are probably searching for you or your services on the internet. How will they find you? Hopefully I can help with that.

Music While You Work

Lately I have been working in absolute silence and now I realize that this sucks. After downloading all of Eric Jordan’s albums (which are completely free by the way at neverrain.com) I have been focused and motivated while having his music play in the background. If you are in your office and wondering why you feel so unmotivated to do anything, try playing some appealing tunes in the background, you’ll be surprised. (If you randomly get up and start dancing on your desk its not my fault.)

Don’t Cut Your Marketing Budgets

Now considering that this is a marketing company, it may come off that I am simply being self serving here. But the truth is that ask any marketing expert and they will tell you the same thing. This is usually the first thing that business put on the budget chopping block first. Even in a down economy, your businesses marketing budget should remain the same if not increase! This isn’t to say marketing can’t or shouldn’t be reduced. I know that sometimes cutting costs is unavoidable. But in doing so, businesses need to spend their limited budgets more intelligently. New web-based technology has become free and widely available to help operate with reduced budgets while at the same time developing effective marketing tactics. With the downturn of the economy, your marketing could actually be your lifeline and keep your business thriving. While everyone else is cutting their marketing budget, your exposure will shoot through the roof.

Site Problems

As some of you may know, we completely redesigned the site about 3 weeks ago and are still getting all the kinks out. Some of the links are broken and our custom quote page is not uploading correctly but the issues are being fixed as I speak. Should be done soon!
